Wonderful
Soulful Wednesday
Wednesday, Oct. 12
Wonderful Soulful Wednesday provides an alternative to Sunday mornings for getting to know other members and friends of the Fellowship through meals, fun, learning, discussions, and spiritual practices. We hope that you will find all of those things and more while you are here! Childcare will be provided.

Games Galore: Round out Wonderful Soulful Wednesday by playing board, word, tile, and card games. The modern Euro board games are non-attacking and have a deeper strategy than traditional games, and many last an hour or less. All generations welcome. For more information, contact Ben Auer or John Chubb. In the Social Room.
Hands-Only CPR: One quarter of Americans say they’ve been in a situation
where someone needed CPR. If you were one of them, would you know what
to do? The UUFCC Caring Committee is providing an opportunity to learn
about this method. Hands-only CPR is a potentially lifesaving
technique involving no mouth to mouth contact. It is best used in
emergencies where someone has seen another person suddenly collapse.
The hands-only technique increases the likelihood of surviving cardiac
emergencies that occur outside medical settings. Professional health
care providers will be present to answer questions.
Children’s Activities: Seasonal games and activities, Room 2 or outside
Childcare in Room 4 for toddlers (Available thru May)

What we Play: We
tend to play modern “Euro-Games.” Most
of these come from Europe, especially Germany.
Unlike traditional American-style games where you attack your friends
and spend 4 hours eliminating them, these games are more cooperative. Players still try to win, but may need to be
nice to their friends, even help them, in order to do well…sort of like real
life. And many take only a few minutes
to learn and an hour or so to play. Yet
the strategy is deep enough for even a dedicated gamer. Examples of popular games are Settlers of Catan, Puerto Rico, Power Grid, Carcassonne, Incan Gold, and Trans America. Teens, adults, and gaming friends are welcome.
Bring game-friendly (non-greasy) snacks if you like. For details, contact Cat Haverback .
